&Home was founded by Liz and Erik Eitel as a way to provide people a way of shopping handmade all year round. The products featured in &Home are always changing because when you're shopping handmade, no two things are the same. Each artist pays special attention to detail while honing their craft and is able to take creative liberties.

Prior to opening &Home, Liz was a sign language interpreter in NJ. Due to the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic, Liz lost her job and knew it was time to start something new. Viewing the pandemic and the unfortunate shove into unemployment as an opportunity, Erik and Liz decided to take the leap and open a store in Chester, NJ. Liz is a professionally trained ceramic artist and had been working with the Chester, NJ community for several years. Liz was able to realize her creative vision via &Home and not only feature her own work but also the work of other talented artists.

Erik is certainly not creative in traditional sense, but has an affection for technology and creative problem solving with technology. Erik was excited to join Liz along the journey of opening &Home and is the operational counterpart to Liz's creative role. Erik has many years of experience working in Fortune 500 companies in a technology and operations setting and is excited to use his experience further the store and give back to the Chester and surrounding community.

Above all - Liz and Erik want to be a resource for the community - both locally and within the artist community. If you have a question about ceramics or any of the other items we carry, don't hesitate to give us a call and we'd be happy to chat or put you in touch with the artists themselves.
